Data were collected by the U.S. Geological Survey and cooperating State geological survey agencies. This dataset represents the publicly available stratigraphic data as of 2010 and contains about 50 parameters describing the point location, data source, and coal information such as formation and bed name, thickness, top and bottom depths, and lithology. This is a provisional database subject to revision.NCRDS data were compiled to provide a large, comprehensive and publicly available digital coal database to be used in the estimation of coal resources in the U.S.en2010publication dateIn workAs needed-180.000000-66.00000072.000000024.000000-88.099000-78.48083333.00600041.175000ArcIMS Metadata Server Theme Codes Thesaurusgeoscientific informationUSGS Energy Program Themes Thesaurusgeologic frameworkUSGSUS Geological SurveyEnergy Resources ProgramPetroleumCoalNoneCoalCoal dataNoneUnited StatesKentuckyPennsylvaniaOhioMarylandVirginiaWest VirginiaAlabamaGeorgiaTennesseeArkansasColoradoIllinoisIndianaIowaMontanaNorth CarolinaNorth DakotaNew MexicoOhioTennesseeTexasWyomingNonecoalNoneNonemailing address
